I took these pictures during my last visit in December 2007. It was strictly business, so I only got the chance to take a short visit. But it was worth it.

lo harus dateng ke sini jor. banyak yg bisa dilihat, daerah-daerah 'tak terjangkau' yang seru. mau pantai yg indah? buset, seabrek-abrek. sampe di pinggir jalan aja pantainya indah-indah.

di satu sisi gue pengen pulau ini lebih dikelola secara profesional, tapi di sisi lain kuatir juga kalo jadi terlalu komersial. but talking about potential, woooow...lots of potential.

semangat bgt gue ngomongnya. i guess i'm hooked by the island :)

God has been generous indeed. I got there through this program I did for my client...went there in 2006 and 2007. The place is just great. It makes me want to research photos of Bali in the 60s and 70s, just before and during the first years of the tourist attack, coz I think Rote (in this case Nemberala and Boa) resembles Kuta etc's early days.

Yes indeed, Rote is part of God's creation, therefore, its integrity should be maintained and sustained for the benefit of future generations; but what about the local inhabitants of beautiful Rote? Does anybody care about the education of their youth to bring them on par with with their peers elswhere? Who's going to make the first move? Anybody?
